Fabulous Rails and Sails from Oceanside to Mountaintop!!!
SEPT 20 – 26, 2018

Day #1 - We will depart early morning from Windsor with stops along the way. Our 1 night is at the Holiday Inn Express, Albany, NY (1 Night). Tonight dinner is included and the evening is free to enjoy the hotel & surrounding area.
Day #2 - We will include an expanded Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. Then we are off to the Berkshire Mountains – See mountain vistas and charming New England villages as you make your way through the Berkshire Mountains. Stop into the Historic Red Lion Inn for a photo-op and gift shop. Todays lunch is at Griswold Inn Lunch here we will enjoy the sophisticated New England cuisine in the ambiance of this historic Inn. Nestled on the shores of the Connecticut River in the seaport village of Essex, the Griswold Inn opened its doors in 1776 serving the area’s yachtsman and overland travelers and has been ever since. Our last stop for the day is Essex Steam Train & Riverboat we will Ride the rails to your steam boat adventure. Then we depart from the historic Essex Station for a ride through the beautiful countryside of the Connecticut River Valley aboard a true Steam train with vintage rail cars. Hop on the steamboat for great sites including the historic Goodspeed Opera House, majestic Gillette Castle, flora, fauna and wildlife and more. Afterwards we will Arrive at the Quality Inn, Mystic, CT (1 Night). After check in the evening is free, so you can visit the Olde Mistick Village for dinner on own and browsing the many shops.
Day #3 – This morning we include an extended Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. We will board the bus for a tour of Captain Nathaniel Palmer House this tour takes you through this 16-room Victorian mansion built in 1851 by the discoverer of Antarctica. The home reflects the life and career of Captain Palmer as a designer, owner and captain of China trade clipper ships. Sweeping views of Stonington Harbor. We then enjoy the Old Lighthouse Museum & tour through this 1823 Lighthouse Tower and museum housing six rooms of historic artifacts depicting life in a New England coastal town. After our Tours we head to the South Coast Lighthouse Cruise with Boxed Panera Bread Lunch - This wonderful cruise covers 30 miles of the New England’s fabulous coastline showcasing the most beautiful lighthouses. Your captain will take you throughout Narragansett Bay, through Newport and bring you up close and personal to these historic landmarks perched on bluffs, jetties, and bogs. Scenery abounds as you pass ten different Lighthouses, Islands, coastal mansions, yachts and more! Included is a delicious boxed lunch on board. We then board the Newport Scenic Train Ride. The Newport and Narragansett Bay Railroad takes in sweeping views of Newport's picturesque Narragansett Bay with its many vistas including sailing ships, natural rocky beaches, historic mansions, islands, Quonset Point, wonderful marine wildlife and the prestigious Newport Naval Academy. Then we arrive at the Clarion Inn, Seekonk, MA (1 Night). Tonight Dinner in on Own at the Hotel onsite restaurant or enjoy the surrounding area with the free evening.
Day #4 – Again this morning we include an extended Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. After breakfast we will enjoy the Boston Harbor Cruise which is a relaxing narrated cruise on historic Boston Harbor. See the bustling inner harbor. Learn about the past, present and future of the historic waterfront area including Charles Navy Yard, Boston‘s fishing industry, Tea Party site and more. We then go to the Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market were we have time to explore and have lunch on your own at this historic center filled with shops, eateries and carts of hand-crafted gifts. We will visit the Anna Lee Doll Museum and Store we stop and see where these loveable hand-painted dolls are created and learn the history behind them. Dinner tonight is on the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad we will enjoy a carved, roast turkey dinner (prepared by the famous Hart’s Turkey Farm) as you circle one of New Hampshire’s largest lakes aboard the vintage coaches of the Winnipesaukee Railway. Enjoy the view....the lake is nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains. Tonight we check in at the Fireside Inn and Suites, Gilford, NH for the next 2 nights.
Day #5 - Again this morning we include an extended Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. After breakfast we will enjoy The Rocks Estate Maple Experience which is Perched on pristine mountainous terrain, this multi-functional estate encompasses a huge Christmas tree farm, maple sugar house and production, gift shop and more. Travel through scenic mountain passages to “The Rocks”. Enjoy an interactive virtual tour at the Rocks Estate of the sap boiling process in the sugarhouse and maple museum. See and learn how sweet treats were made from Native American times to present day. Then we enjoy the town of Littleton, NH here we have time to explore the shops and have lunch on own in this quaint New England downtown. After lunch we drive through one of New Hampshire’s most scenic passages Franconia Notch where shear rock walls reach up to the sky. Home of the site of the state’s symbol, the ill-fated “Old Man on the Mountain“. Afterwards we enjoy the Taste of New Hampshire Mountain Train Ride, Fall doesn't get any better!!! Munch on samples of New Hampshire made and grown products as you ride the rails through the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire, through passes and notches with grand mountain vistas, and amazing foliage. Following the winding "Pemi" River you'll cross over two span trestle. Stop at a Farm Stand adorned with life-size Scarecrows made by local famous artisans. Pick up your favorite New Hampshire goodies. Before we go back the the Hotel Dinner is Included tonight.
Day #6 - This morning we include an extended Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. After breakfast we will enjoy Quechee Gorge nestled in the Green Mountains, stop for a photo-op at “Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon”. At The Vermonter we will hop aboard Amtrak's Vermont train and ride the rails through the scenic Green Mountains. Sit back, relax and enjoy the view! We stop at Yankee Candle Company which is a real shopping adventure.....with the Bavarian Christmas Village, Old World Shops, the Nordic Fountain, The Oompah Boys, The Candle-making Museum and more. After the tour we include dinner and then Arrive at the Holiday Inn Express, Albany, NY (1 Night)
Day #7 - We will include an expanded Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel then head for home. We will have stops along the way including Duty Free. We will arrive back in Windsor early evening with memories to last a life time.

SEPT 30 - OCT 4, 2018

Day #1 - We will depart early morning from Windsor with stops along the way. Our 1 night is at the Comfort Suites, Lake George, NY(3 Night). Tonight dinner is included and the evening is free to enjoy the hotel & surrounding area.
Day #2 - We will include an expanded Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. Then we are off to Lake George Tour - Discover the "Queen of American Lakes”. Amazing views abound as you travel to three mountain vistas including the 100 mile view on Prospect Mt. Lake George is steeped in history..... visit Battleground Park, the site of historic Fort George and Fort William Henry with interesting facts on the French and Indian Wars. We then will board the Lake George Luncheon Cruise - Sail upon the crystal clear waters of beautiful Lake George aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement, the largest cruise ship on the Lake. A scrumptious hot and cold lunch is paired with live music. Take a spin around the dance floor or sit back and enjoy the tunes and view! Gift shop on board. Afterwards We will enjoy the Adirondack Winery - with a tasting of outstanding, award-winning wines, hand-crafted at this family-owned Lake George area winery. Then we have time to browse Lake George - through the many shops on Lake George’s famous Beach Street shopping area. Time for dinner on own. The rest of the evening will be free time.
Day #3 – This morning we include an expanded Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. We will head for Saratoga - North Creek Railway Excursion - Journey through the heart of the rugged Adirondack Mountain Range along the mighty Hudson River with a fabulous back-drop of mammoth mountain peaks, valleys and quaint villages tucked in between.We then enjoy lunch on own in North Creek, NY - this charming Adirondack village. After lunch we then enjoy Lake Placid Olympic Museum - Hear the stories, see the history, experience the excitement of the Winter Games held in Lake Placid! Relive the excitement as you view the original footage of the 1980 US Hockey Team, see the official Olympic and Parade uniforms or try your hand at the unique sport of curling. We will then enjoy Lake Placid Tour - Mountains do not get any more picturesque!! Home to the 1932 and 1980 winter Olympics. Visit the Olympic Village and see the training center, Ice Skating Arena, Speed skating Oval, huge ski jumps and more. Tonight Dinner is Includedand the evening is free.
Day #4 – Again this morning we include an expanded Continental Breakfast with hot choices at the hotel. After breakfast we will enjoy a Saratoga Springs Tour - Meet your guide and discover Saratoga Springs, the "Spa Resort". Ready your cameras for this picturesque village, filled with Victorian architecture and gardens. Hear all about the historic race track, marvelous mansions, famous residents and more! We then go to Kingston, NY - Take time for lunch on own in this historic city on the Hudson River. Afterwards we will board the Hudson River Cruise - Board the historic MV Commander for a two hour cruise from Haverstraw Marina to West Point. This fascinating narrated excursion features delightful scenery as you cruise past Stony Point Battle Site, Verplanck, Peekskill and Bear Mountain State Park West Point. Tonight Dinner is Included. Day #5 - Again this morning we include a deluxe Continental Breakfast with Hot Choice at the hotel.
After breakfast we head home. We will have stops along the way including Duty Free. We will arrive back in Windsor early evening with memories to last a life time.
